In 1839, Louisa’s mother, Elizabeth Murrell, died.  Louisa was nine years old at the time.

And probably since that time she had been living with Daniel and Hannah Whitwell, of Canewdon, Essex.

Hannah Whitwell was Louisa’s Aunt.  She was a sister of her father.  Daniel and Hannah Whitwell were childless and were probably willing to take her in their home.

Perhaps Louisa was learning housekeeping skills and more from her Aunt Hannah.

In 1841, Louisa Murrell, age 11, is living with Daniel and Hannah Whitwell in Canewdon, Essex.
