11.          MARY SCOTT  was born in Canewdon, Essex and was christened December 21, 1806 in the church at Canewdon.   She was a daughter of James Scott and Martha Pickingill.

The entry in the parish register for 1806 says “Scott, Mary Dau: of James & Martha Dec: 21.”

Mary Scott married JOHN HART  on October 15, 1833 at the church in Canewdon, Essex.

The marriage entry in the Canewdon Bishop’s Transcript for 1833 says:

John Hart a Bachelor of this Parish and Mary Scott a spinster of this Parish were married in this Church by Banns this fifteenth Day of October in the Year one Thousand eight Hundred and Thirty three  By me W. Atkinson Vicar

John Hart was born ca. 1800 in Tendring, Essex.

He was a Carpenter and they lived in Canewdon.

 

In 1841, Mary Hart and her children were living in Canewdon, Essex.  John Hart was probably at another location.

From the 1841 Census of Canewdon, Essex, we find the following:

In 1841, Fredric Hart, age 6, was living with his parents in Canewdon, Essex.  (See above under the parents for the census details).

 

In 1841, Frederick Hart died at the age of 7 years in Canewdon, Essex and was buried October 20, 1841 in the churchyard of Canewdon.

22.          JESSIE HART was born in Canewdon, Essex and was christened August 18, 1839 in the church at Canewdon.

In 1861, Jessie Hart, age 21, was a servant in the household of Robert Hepburn in Hanover Square, Middlesex.

Note:  There was a baby girl buried in 1843 Canewdon, but since they don’t mention the parents name in the burial entry, it is not clear if she was a daughter of the above John and Mary Hart.
