3.          ELIZA FINCH was born 1834 in Belchamp Walter, Essex.  This location is near the Essex and Suffolk border.

 

 

~ 1837

Eliza was baptized 25 June 1837 at the church in Hadleigh, Essex.

On the baptism records she was baptized as Eliza Eaves and the parents were listed as William and Elizabeth Eaves.

Because at the time of her marriage, she went with the name of Eliza Finch and born three years earlier makes doubts that William Eaves was her father.

In 1841, Eliza, age 7, was listed as Eliza Eves living with William and Elizabeth Eves in Hadleigh, Essex (see above in Part II under William and Elizabeth Eaves for census details).

 

~ 1851

In 1851, Eliza, age 16, was listed as Eliza Eaves living with William and Elizabeth Eaves in Hadleigh, Essex (see above in Part II under William and Elizabeth Eaves for census details).

 

~ 1860

Eliza Finch married JOSEPH WILTSHIRE on 16 September 1860 in the church at Hadleigh, Essex.

Joseph Wiltshire was born ca. 1832 in Thundersley, Essex.

He appeared to be a friend of Eliza's brother Joseph Finch.  He was also a lodger in the same place as Joseph Finch was during the time of the 1851 census (see above in Part III for census details).

In 1861, Joseph and Eliza Willshire were living at the home of William and Elizabeth Eaves at On Causeway in Hadleigh, Essex.  Joseph was an Agricultural laborer.
