Note that the next two men listed after James Green is William Punt age 18 born in Essex Wickford and William Wright age 18 born in Canewdon, Essex.
James Green was most likely a friend and associated with them since they were lodgers and worked the same farm in Foulness in 1871.
William Punt is the person who married George Pickingills daughter Martha Ann Pickingill three years later in 1874.
And it probably was William Wright who was born in Canewdon that brought William Punt to Canewdon where he later met Martha Ann Pickingill.
This was still when James Greens grandmother, Fanny Bird, was still living.
James Green married ELLEN HAMMOND in 1876.
