Philip Adams  ( ? - ? )

1.           PHILIP  ADAMS

Philip Adams married Elizabeth ---?---.

They lived in Burnham and Southminster, Essex in the 1780’s to early 1800’s.  Southminster was where the children was baptized.

In 1858, Philip and Elizabeth’s daughter, Frances, remarried with Thomas Bird and on the marriage certificate, it described the father, Phillip Adams, deceased and that he was a Labourer.

CHILDREN OF PHILIP AND ELIZABETH ADAMS

2.          ELIZABETH ADAMS   was born February 9, 1783 and was baptized February 17, 1783 at the church in Southminster, Essex.

3.          ANN ADAMS  was born October 15, 1784 and was baptized November 3, 1784 at the church in Southminster, Essex.

6.          JOHN ADAMS  was baptized June 12, 1791 at the church in Southminster, Essex.   The mother was listed as Mary instead of Elizabeth.  Probably an error.

7.  +       JAMES ADAMS  was baptized May 17, 1793 at the church in Southminster, Essex.

James probably married Mary Willsmore (See Research Notes on that page).

8.          HANNAH ADAMS  was born January 28, 1796 and was baptized April 5, 1801 at the church in Southminster, Essex.

9.  +         FRANCES ADAMS  was born March 5, 1801 and was baptized March 6, 1801 at the church in Southminster, Essex.

Frances married 1st. Thomas Westwood and then married 2nd. Thomas Bird.

Research Notes:

There were two other entries at Southminster church:

Caroline Adams born August 6, 1827 and baptized September 15, 1827 -- parents Philip and Elizabeth Adams.

William Adams baptized Feb 25, 1830 -- parents Philip and Elizabeth Adams.

Also from FamilySearch.org is the following:

1824    Philip Adams married Elizabeth Davis

Residence:      Steeple, Essex, England
Event Place:   Steeple, Essex, England

It could be that Philip Adams in his 60’s married again with another Elizabeth and had two more children born.   Or this is another Philip Adams.  Need to check the records of Southminster for Burial and Marriage records to figure out this.
