John Wallworth ( 1745 - 1820 )

46.          JOHN WALLWORTH  (of Thomas6 , of Thomas5 , of John4 , of Thomas3 , of Thomas2 , of Thomas1 ) was born in 1745.  The year of birth is base on the age of 75 years at his death in 1820.  The baptism of John was not found.

Father:           Thomas Wallworth    (No. 31)

Mother:           Esther Pickering

Notes:

1st. -- The baptisms of John and his brother, William, were not found in the parish registers of St. Mary church, Weaverham - so it cannot be totally certain if they were sons of Thomas Wallworth (No. 31) and his wife Esther Pickering.   John did lived in places where the other sons of Thomas Wallworth (No. 31) lived.  And that one of John’s daughter married a son of Joseph Wallworth.

2nd. -- William mentioned in his Will that John Wallworth was his brother and that he had property in Cuddington.

John Wallworth was one of the witnesses to the marriage of Joseph Wallworth of Eaton in Tarporley parish and Alice Barker of Sandiway in Weaverham   parish on October 10, 1769 at St. Helen church in Tarporley, Cheshire.

John Wallworth married ELLEN STILFOX on February 9, 1771 at St. Mary and All Saints church in Great Budworth, Cheshire.

Marriages 1771

“John Wallworth Batchelor and Ellen Stilfox Spinster both of this Parish were Married in this Church by Licence Feby 9th

From the Parish registers, they were described in the marriage entry as both being of the Parish of Great Budworth.  John Wallworth signs the register and she leaves her mark.  Witnesses were Joseph Wallworth and Ralph Wilkinson.

Ellen Stilfox was born ca. 1736.  The birth year is base on the age of 71 years at her death in 1807.

John and Ellen Wallworth were living in Dutton, Great Budworth Parish.

John Wallworth was one of those present at the marriage of Thomas Wallworth and Esther Pickering on January 26, 1777 at St. Mary church in Weaverham, Cheshire.

Somewhere between 1772 and 1779, John and Ellen Wallworth left Dutton and moved to Haslington, Cheshire.
